Sam goes to bed thinking about the injured Caesar on his couch, unaware of the events that will unfold in a few hours.
He wakes up due to some noise coming from the back of his house and goes down to investigate; equipped to strike he is not ready for the scene unfolding in front of him. Many emotions pass through his eyes, the main one being confusion.
“How is this possible?” thinks Sam, as he sees Caesar emerging from a hole in the backyard.
“When did that happen?”
He watches with disbelief evident in his eyes as Caesar makes eye contact with him but ignored him and continues to move toward the front of the house; still carrying a limp pup in his arms. Sam sits down on the bar stool and decides to confront Caesar about whatever he saw and just sits waiting.
After dropping off the pup to the authorities, Caesar walks into the kitchen, already wanting the conversation to be over.
“Explain!” demands Sam, pointing Caesar to sit on the kitchen stool.
“Who are you?”
“Who was the pup you were carrying?”
“Where did you go through that hole?”
“Are you even a dog?” Sam mutters under his breath in disbelief.
